Path of Exile Item Upgrading

item upgrade upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an added bonus or effect while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, gathered in loot, dropped by enemies or received as a reward from missions or chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to choose it and click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.

There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of the item upgrades's name. For example the addition of the suffix Glyph could transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph by another the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in several fundamental ways. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up however, the materials needed do not increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the impact of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

When an item is leveled out, it will be able to receive an upgrade set of components, as well as a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item upgrader kit's type. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests, depending on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item does not reach its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the choice to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material but will have a lower chance of success.

To determine the height of a structure, engineers will employ a level to compare the measurement to a known reference point like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that the buildings are constructed with an extremely high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can significantly increase the strength of an item, damage, or other attributes. This can be done through the item menu or using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling an item level upgrade can be costly and should be handled with care.

The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which are used to earn tokens for rerolls. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the amount of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level that has been filled.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes which made them easier to roll. This meant that you'd get the stats that mattered most to your build often than other items. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for all stats. This can be a great or a bad thing, depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could have a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the better the chance of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also includes a number of sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on an item. This is a great method to add lots of power to a particular character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. This is because rerolling can offer a quicker route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach higher levels and progress in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They can be different sizes, contain no elements, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides a wide range of set items that can be upgraded. Some are worth upgrading, while others are not. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that provide high defense values and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific tools that are suitable for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level with their levels. For example the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on the screen of their character. The item's attributes will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related and are upgraded to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial improvement in their stats. This will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated appearance.
