Both robots do well picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors, and they're excellent at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and may have issues in navigating through transitions between surfaces like from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests cleaning the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it might encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filters clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station's dust bin. The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot through the app or by voice.

The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and move around the room, and even vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. We were able, once connected, to voice commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households and can fit perfectly next to a coffee table or on the bookshelf, where you can move it around like the magic wand.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then releases cleaner air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to suck up large dust and crumbs. It has three suction modes to suit the task being performed. 4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to invest in an expensive robot. It's capable of sucking up most debris types and sizes during our tests, and often passes over the same areas several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice touch.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home. However, it lacks the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, including our top picks, the i3+EVO and j7+ Series. It can get stuck on phone cords or furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects in that it has fewer parts that require regular maintenance and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.

The elegant best robovac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of reasons, since it has a longer battery life, the ability to change the suction power mode by hand and has physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and can perform better on floors with bare or low-pile.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
